Choosing A Transcription Service

Often, when doctors need help with transcription, they are shocked to discover how difficult it is to locate people who transcribe professionally, who are reliable, and who do good work. How do you find a good medical transcriptionist? The same way you find a good doctor: By word of mouth.
Ask your professional colleagues who performs their transcription for them. If they are happy with the quality of the work and the service they receive, contact the transcriptionist to see if that person or service is interested in taking on a new account.

Never forget that it is more cost efficient to outsource the work to an independent contractor than it is to hire a fully-benefitted employee (FTE).

Whatever you do, do not call a temp agency asking if they have someone who can do medical transcription.
